Empowering Informed Financial Decisions: The Beratung Mission
At Beratung Advisors, we all have one job: to execute on our mission.

It’s not just a tagline or a statement on a website. It’s the guiding principle behind every client interaction, every financial plan, and every decision we make.

Our Mission: Clear, Simple, and Intentional

Our mission is straightforward but deeply meaningful:

We empower clients to make informed financial decisions.

We do this by providing comprehensive advice, guidance, and counsel—not just numbers, charts, or investment recommendations. We educate and empower our clients so they can confidently navigate their financial future, make the right decisions for themselves, and ultimately pursue their goals and live a fulfilling life.

We spent a lot of time refining this mission statement. Every word was chosen with purpose.

Advice, Guidance, and Counsel—The Heart of Beratung

The word “Beratung” in German means advice, guidance, and counsel—three distinct but interconnected ideas that form the core of our approach.

Advice: We provide insights and recommendations, backed by experience and research.

Guidance: We walk alongside our clients, helping them stay on track and make wise choices.

Counsel: We listen, ask the right questions, and help clients navigate both the financial and emotional aspects of decision-making.
We don’t just tell people what to do. We empower them to make the best choices for themselves.

Decisions Are Everywhere—But Are They Informed?

Every single day, we make financial decisions, whether we realize it or not.
  • Do you stop for breakfast on the way to work or eat at home?
  • Do you pack a lunch or go out to eat?
  • Do you subscribe to a new service or cancel one?
  • Do you take the highway or a backroad, impacting fuel efficiency?
These decisions may seem small, but they add up. They shape our financial future. And the key question isn’t just what decisions we make—it’s whether we’re making informed ones.

When a client stops for coffee every morning, do they understand how that choice fits into their long-term financial goals? Do they know how much those small, daily expenses impact their ability to invest, save, or retire?

Our job isn’t to tell clients whether they should buy coffee or pack their lunch. Our job is to educate them on how their choices impact their future, so they can make decisions with confidence.

Money Is Just a Tool—A Means to a Fulfilling Life

At the heart of our mission is this belief:

Money is just a tool.

It’s not about accumulating wealth for the sake of wealth. It’s about leveraging money to build the life you’re called to live.

That’s why, at Beratung Advisors, the first step in our financial planning process isn’t about investments or strategies—it’s about listening.

We take the time to understand our clients’ real goals, their purpose, and their vision for a fulfilling life. Then, we help them clarify those goals so that every financial decision aligns with their bigger picture.

When Our Clients Win, We Win

Success for Beratung Advisors isn’t measured in assets under management or the number of clients we serve.

Success is when our clients are living fulfilling lives.

When they have clarity. When they feel empowered. When they can confidently make financial decisions that align with their goals and values.

That’s how we know we’re fulfilling our mission.

And that’s why we’ll continue to educate, guide, and empower—because when our clients win, we win.

13 Lessons I Learned From My Dad

My father was called home to be with God 13 years ago on Thanksgiving Day, November 24th, 2011. Today would have been his 76th birthday. There is not a day that goes by that I do not think of my dad. In his memory, I wanted to share the 13 most important lessons he taught me, one for each year he has not been with me.
